Photo Editing

Welcome to the photo editing section. The essence of this section is techniques for obtaining, improving, changing and producing output of photos. I received many emails asking for less "web logo" stuff and more on real image processing, so I'll do my best to accommodate.

This section is currently a bit confused. Previous visitors may recognise some of the content as previously being in the beginners section, but that wasn't appropriate for all that I wanted to cover. But I didn't want to subdivide the site much more. So now this is the photo editing section, with the stuff from the begineers section improved and updated. Tell me if you like it...

Basic
Requirements for image processing.
Obtaining images.
Resolution: pixels, dots per inch (dpi), and colour depth.
Saving pictures - file formats explained.
Intermediate
What is moire? (Or: why do my scans have a chequered pattern, and how do I get rid of it?)
Improving picture contrast and brightness (Tone Balance and Percentages).
Correcting picture colours.
Improving blurred pictures.
Advanced
Removing parts of a picture: the Clone tool.
